Photos from Rothenberg 21 Sep 2003

One of the gates to the city, and the holes in the wall to fire a weapon out of.

Just inside the gate, Ron walks down the street, and I look back up at the inside of the wall - you can walk around the city up there.

It's very festive here.  On the right, the town hall, and the tower.

On the marktPlatz.

See those people up around the top of the tower (on the outside of it) ????

Ron enters the door to the tower stairs.  On the right, looking out a 1st stage window.

At the top of the circular stairs, then into a large room with more stairs.

The up a really narrow, steep ladder, out onto a narrow ledge with a railing.  Above everything else in town.

Looking down on the roof of the town hall, and the marketplace, across town above the church steeples.

Not exactly teh Empire STate Building, but 1 1300s version.  The next person climbs up the ladder and out.  Her friend gives her a hand.

The bell in the tower now has an electric hammer.  Down above some pretty steep roofs.

Out across the valley

On the left, I stuck the camera out and pointed straight down.

On the left, going back down the stairs, to terra firma on the right.

In the Torture Museum, I found these interesting rules for the workplace from the good old days, when men were men, and sheep were, well, ... Read closely

Leaving town.
